Our girls togged out for the Summer League Semi Final with high spirits facing our ever-present neighbours Navan O Mahonys. 

The teams have had many great battles and the girls, having faced a tough loss in the Division 3 League Final, were determined to turn the tide in their favour.  

A young Trim team headed out to the field to earn their spot in the final. With their tails up from the first score of the game the girls pushed on with Ellen Murray ever present to calmly slot over from the placed balls she was given keeping the score board ticking in Trim’s favour.  As the teams went into the half time Trim saw themselves 1 point behind the home side but putting in the work on the field fighting an ever physical game.

As the girls went out for the second half they knew they had to step up their game to progress in the competition.  Rian showed her strength and experience giving the supporters a showcase in midfield as she always does and was the first to raise the green flag for the day to put Trim ahead. 

Pushing on this progress the girls kept the high pressure on Navan as the game stayed score for score. When Navan replied with a goal of their own our girls pulled their socks up and got right into the skills they’ve been working on all year.  Their strength and determination earned them another goal thanks to Rachel McCormack being ever present pressing the Navan goalkeeper to get the ball into the Navan net and ensure a well worked win to get Trim into their second final of the year.
