๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ Minor Football v St. Patricks ๐๐ฎ๐ฉ
Trim Minors travelled on Sunday last to St Patrickโs in Stamullen for round three of the Div 2 League. The game got off to a lazy Sunday evening start with both sides guilty of handling errors and misplaced passes, resulting in a low scoring opening 15 minutes. As the half progressed, the hosts were more clinical in the early exchanges and with the aid of a well taken goal went into the lead. Trim continued to work hard coming back strong in the final minutes of the half to finish trailing 1-4 to 0-5. Trim came out for the second half and increased the intensity and tempo resulting in a number of fine scores from Sรฉamus Evans (2), Tadhg Carty (5) and second half substitute Eoghan Ryan (3). In what was a very competitive game, both sides exchanged scores and approaching the final 5 mins it was all square. The hosts got a break on the half forward line with minutes to go and netted the match winning goal despite a fine block by Colm OโRourke. A fair result on the day, given the slow start by the men in red who must now wait until July for their next match, their first home fixture of 2022.
